SONiA
We first met Sonia at the summer NAMM show in Indianapolis . No, I haven't forgotten her last name — Rutstein — but as a performer she's opted for the simplicity of just Sonia. SONiA, actually, if we're being case-sensitive.
At Frankfurt Musikmesse this year we ran into Sonia again, playing at the Santa Cruz Guitar booth. She graciously offered to come over and sing a few songs at our stand, as well. She sang at our booth each of the four days, and during those days I came to appreciate what a major talent she is.
One of the things about this business that I love is when I meet someone who uses my products, and whose music I enjoy, AND who turns out to be someone I just like to hang out with. So it was with Sonia; a very talented and delightful lady, and a new friend.
Sonia uses her Shubb capo quite a lot as she transitions quickly and smoothly from song to song, and I've discovered that she is fiercely loyal to Shubb. It's the only capo she will use, and she's anxious to tell anyone about it! As you might imagine, this immediately endeared her to me.
When we returned from Germany, I emailed Sonia to thank her for making our show so enjoyable. The following is her response, which I think is pure poetry.
(not an exerpt, the dots are hers)
